Overview

CiteVitals ("we") built this app to show how strong any paper's citations are using real data from OpenAlex. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it. By using CiteVitals, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

• Lookup data: the paper DOI or title you enter to generate a citation report. Reports are built from public OpenAlex scholarly data.
• Email: when you unlock a full report, your email address is stored to gate the full report and keep a record of your report.
• Subscription data: your Pro plan status, billing email, and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers. Card details are handled by Stripe, not stored by us.
• Technical data: standard request logs and aggregate usage analytics.

How we use your data

We use your data to generate citation reports from OpenAlex, sync your subscription status with Stripe, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal data.

Third-party services

Citation data is retrieved from OpenAlex. Payments are processed by Stripe. Each service operates under its own terms and privacy practices.

Data retention

We retain generated paper reports and the email used to unlock them so you can revisit your reports. Pro and Tip billing records are kept for billing reconciliation. To request deletion of your data, contact us.
